Skin Fades & Men's Haircuts in Las Vegas
A men's haircut at GQ Cuts Barbershop is $40 and takes about 30 minutes. Fades are what most people come in for: skin fades, taper fades, drop fades and burst fades, cut by seven barbers at 2605 S Decatur Blvd, Unit 106, near Sahara and Decatur in Las Vegas. Walk in any day of the week or book a time on Booksy in about 30 seconds.
Which fade is right for you?
Skin fade (bald fade): the sides go all the way down to the skin and blend up into length on top. Sharp, clean and the most popular cut in the shop. It grows out fastest, so most guys come back every two to three weeks.
Taper fade: the length drops only around the ears and the neckline, and the rest of the sides keep some length. A good choice if you want a clean look that grows out more slowly or works with a work dress code.
Drop fade and burst fade: the fade curves down behind the ear (drop) or wraps around the ear in a half circle (burst). Both pair well with curls, twists, a mohawk or a textured top.
Low, mid or high: where the fade starts on the side of the head. Low keeps more length and looks softer; high shows more skin and more contrast. If you are not sure, tell your barber how you wear your hair day to day and they will suggest a height.
What happens in the chair
Your barber asks how short you want the sides, how much length to keep on top, and how high to start the fade. Photos of a cut you like help a lot. The sides are blended up from the skin with clippers and guards, the top is cut with clippers or scissors, and the edges (forehead, temples and neck) are finished with a clean line up. Every cut ends with a look in the mirror so you can ask for changes before you leave.
Want a design, a hard part or a line in the fade? Hair design is a $20 add-on. A beard can be added for a full reset: see beard trims and line ups. All other services and prices are on the services page.
